HENNA

What is henna?
Henna is a natural reddish-brown dye used for temporary tattoos and hair dye (we don't do hair at Mesmer-Eyes). It's made into a mud-like paste that is applied to any part of the body to create a long-lasting temporary tattoo in a design of your choice. It's completely painless. It's simply drawn onto the skin, like piping on a cake. Once the henna is fully dried it will cake off the skin to reveal a beautiful henna tattoo.

How do I choose a design?
You can bring in a design to show to our henna artists or let them create one for you.

How long does it take?
Application time depends on the intricacy and size of the design. It could be as little as 10 minutes or up to a full hour. It will take an addition 30-45 minutes to dry, and we suggest that you remain in the salon until the henna is dry.

How long does it last?
Henna tattoos are temporary --they last anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks, depending on skin type. We recommend that you don't apply any water, lotion or oils to henna tattoo on the day it's applied.

Do I need an appointment?
We encourage appointments, that way we can guarantee a fresh batch of henna will be waiting for you. We do not use henna with any additives, and we do not use black henna because it's not natural and can cause rashes on certain skin types.
